Explorer Pass

Booking with your Explorer Pass is easy. Simply:

• Purchase your Explorer Pass and receive your unique Member ID via email
• Visit our website and select your preferred cruise (Express or Discovery), then choose your departure date/time from the calendar
• On the ticket selection page, select “Are You A Member?”

• Enter your Member ID to unlock your Explorer Pass benefits
• Select your ticket/s and complete your booking

That’s it! You can book your second cruise later in the season, or even the very next day if you can’t wait to get back on the humpback highway.

Your Explorer Pass is valid on both our Express and Discovery Whale Watching Cruises. You can mix and match your experiences, choosing whichever cruise best suits your plans (subject to availability). Whether you cruise twice on your favourite experience or try something different, the choice is yours.

Your Explorer Pass is valid for two whale watching cruises during the current whale watching season. Simply book your preferred departure dates and return later in the season to experience more of the incredible humpback whale migration.

Explorer Pass terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply in respect of the Explorer Pass only, in addition to the general terms and conditions.  These terms and conditions will apply to the extent that there are any inconsistencies between them and the general terms and conditions.

Validity
The Explorer Pass is valid only for the current whale watching season, which runs from 16/05/2026 to 15/11/2026 (inclusive) (Current Season).

Cruise Entitlements
The Explorer Pass entitles the holder to two whale watching cruises during the Current Season.  Both cruises may be booked on either the Express or Discovery whale watching products.  

Pass Use
Pass holders may only hold one future booking at a time. Once a booked cruise has been completed, cancelled or is otherwise no longer active, another booking may be made.  The two cruise entitlements cannot be redeemed for the same departure (i.e. both cruises cannot be used on a single sailing).

Passes are non-transferable
The Explorer Pass is non-transferable and may only be used by the person named on the booking.  Photo identification may be required for adult pass holders at check-in for verification purposes

Unused entitlements
Any unused cruises at the end of the Current Season are forfeited and non-refundable.  Unused cruise entitlements cannot be carried forward to a future season.

Cancellation policy
Any refund requests after the first cruise has been redeemed will be at Fantasea Cruising’s sole discretion.

Booking restrictions during school holidays
Cruises during school holidays are subject to availability and may be capacity restricted during peak demand periods.

My NRMA member discounts
There are no discounts for My NRMA members for Explorer Passes.

Photos of the Day
A complimentary ‘Photos of the Day’ package is included with each cruise booked under the Explorer Pass. The package consists of a Dropbox link to the best photos taken on the day by onboard photographers, selected at the photographer’s discretion. At times, photos from a previous or later cruise may be provided if better shots were taken.

Complimentary Tea and Coffee
Complimentary tea and coffee is provided onboard cruises booked under the Explorer Pass.

Whale Guarantee Policy
The whale guarantee policy in the general terms and conditions applies to each of the two cruises booked under the Explorer Pass.
